Walk in Centre – Phoenix Centre
The Walk in Centre, based at the Phoenix Centre, is a Nurse Led Service offering on-the-spot treatment (without an appointment) and advice for minor health problems, illness, ailments and injuries.
The Walk-in centre will offer treatment for:
- Minor cuts, bruises, burns, scalds insect bites, head injuries
- Muscle and joint injuries such as strains and sprains, back pain
- Coughs, colds, flu type symptoms and hay fever
- High temperature
- Skin complaints including rashes, minor allergic reactions, scabies, head lice, sun burn, nappy rash
- Eye problems such as conjunctivitis
- Ear, nose and throat problems including minor infections, sore throats, ear ache
- Pregnancy testing/advice and appropriate referral
- Sexual health/lifestyle advice
Young babies and children under the age of 12 months should be seen by their own General Practitioner in the surgery

How to access the service
You are able to 'walk-in' during the opening hours of 10am to 7pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 4pm on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays.
Referral criteria / process
Patients are seen on a needs basis, urgent cases are given priority.

Bus routes: Bus routes to the Phoenix Health Centre are the 526 (stops outside the centre in Parkfield Road) and the 558 (stops in Dudley Road).
When is the walk-in centre open?
The Walk in Centre is open from 10am to 7pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 4pm on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays.
The pharmacy is open from 9am to 12midnight Monday to Saturday and 9am to 8pm on Sundays. During holiday periods ring the pharmacy on 01902 621853 to check opening times.
Out of Hours / Emergency Procedures
Outside the service opening hours patients should contact their GP, or follow the Out of Hours arrangement by calling 0300 555 0277.
Accident and Emergency services are available at New Cross Hospital, Wednesfield.
