Screening

The NHS offers a number of screening programmes for a wide range of conditions and illnesses.

Screening is used to find out if a person who might be at risk of developing a particular condition or disease, has any of the signs or symptoms.

Screening is mainly used either to identify a condition that can be helped through appropriate treatment or to identify a condition or illness that if left untreated, would cause ill health or even death (such as cancer).

Please use the links in the left menu to find out about breast screening, bowel screening, cervical screening, chlamydia screening and retinal screening in Wolverhampton.

Further general information on screening and the different NHS screening programmes that are currently available can be found at www.nsc.nhs.uk or www.screening.nhs.uk.
