Safeguarding Children / Vulnerable Adults
Wolverhampton City Primary Care Trust believes that safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults is ‘Everyone’s Business’.
We also recognise that as a commissioner and provider to health and care services, we must meet the highest standards possible.
As a Commissioner the Primary Care Trust will work in partnership with service providers to make sure that:
- The personal safety needs of children, young people and vulnerable adults are taken into account while their health and care needs are being met by all the staff who deliver services for the people of Wolverhampton.
- The PCT actively monitors providers to make sure that their staff are trained and kept up to date with safeguarding policies and procedures
- The PCT requires providers to make sure that staff are suitably trained so that they can recognise and support needs and are able to effectively manage concerns about vulnerability and safety.
- The Trust Board receives reports twice each year which gives information on Safeguarding matters and numbers of children & adults affected.
